Costco & a book titled "AMERICA: Imagine a World without Her

Some may have seen me tweet about this or post something regarding Costco pulling copies of this book which is Number 1 on Amazon's Kindle Store and is a Number 1 bestseller in Books section as well. We saw it as political. Others saw it as political and some of us took to the net to lodge complaints with Costco about this.

Well today, I received a reply from Costco. Someone took the email and marked it as ESCALATED. I guess mentioning a Class Action Lawsuit against them helped to kick some ass in gear and get things moving.

I say GOOD!!! Censorship in this country is bad enough with the government watching every move, the NSA listening to every phone call or tweet or text, Hell I know they're getting an eyeful on some of mine (HA HA HA), that's why I send them!!!

Anyway, I thought amidst the day that everyone out there who follows would like to read the response from Costco which is basically bullshit. They got caught with their pants at half-mast, never thought people would rise up like they did and BAM! RESULTS.

It helps to speak one's mind from time to time. Since I am too damn reachable, I pulled my contact information out of here, but it's good to see that someone stepped up.

Now, if they'll just put the book back on the shelves immediately since they're in the back room, that will be better.

You can purchase a copy by clicking on this: AMERICA: Imagine a World without Her

And here's the email for your reading pleasure. (I've included header information so it can be verified as legit)

Dear Michael,

We appreciate you taking the time to email Costco Wholesale.

Costco is not influenced by political considerations in selecting product for sale in our warehouses or on Costco.com. This includes our selection of books. Our book buyers are solely interested in book sales, and do not favor any political persuasion over another. Recently, after deciding to sell the book "America: Imagine the World Without Her", beginning on June 1, a decision was made to pull the book from sale on July 1. This decision was based solely on the number of copies sold during that month, and had nothing to do with the content of the book.

Costco is not a book store. Our book shelf space is very limited. We exercise discipline in the best utilization of that limited space based solely on what our members are buying. We can't carry every title that our members are interested in reading. We are constantly monitoring book sales, and make decisions to pull books off the shelves frequently based on sales volume to make room for other titles. Politics or controversy over content do not influence our decisions.

After we made the return, a documentary was released about the book. Since then there has been heightened interest by our membership base and brisk sales at locations still in stock. Therefore, we have made the decision to reorder the book.

Thank you,

Tracy L.

Message:
Why would you pull a book called: America: Imagine the World Without Her off your book shelves after selling thousands of copies of it?

Hopefully the Obama Administration is not dictating Costco Inventory Policies now. I know you're not going to want to be involved in the Class Action Lawsuit being formed due to this because it's going to stretch the entire country and it's going to involve all 50 States and a LOT of your membership who are hardcore Republicans.

So...how about getting that title back on the shelves.

Sincerely yours,

Michael Murdock, US NAVY VETERAN
