Today...I am blessed.
I have always been blessed, but today I am especially blessed by God and the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I had the chance to spend some time with my Mother as she lay in her casket in the funeral home awaiting my Brother, his wife, and their two kids to come and pay their last respects to her.
I arrived early to the funeral home, after running some errands and getting my head in order, as well as crying my eyes out because of Celine Dion's music, especially the song from the Robin Williams Movie Bicentennial Man called "Then you look at me". I'm including the lyric below and God BLESS Celine and her amazing voice which resonates so purely through me. You have to see the movie to understand the impact.
My Mother has been locked behind the doors of Alzheimer's, a ruthless disease that ROBS people of their memories. Those cherished snapshots of this life that we all take in our heads hoping to go to our graves with them in our heads and yet this disease which is RAMPANT among those who have served our country, their spouses and yes even their entire families robs those memories from us so we forget who people are, where they are, what they were in our lives, and eventually it robs people of their abilities to control their bodies, to do things that we all take for granted and yet the amount of money spent on research to cure this disease is...lacking compared to others.
An article written in 2013 stated the following which I find unconscionable:
"Alzheimer’s disease affects more than 5 million Americans. It’s the fifth leading cause of death in the United States overall, and care costs for Alzheimer’s patients exceed $200 billion. But somehow the government hasn’t made research into this disease a top priority."
To our elected officials, I say "Find a way to MAKE IT A PRIORITY" or we're going to find and elect others who will. Our beloved government is ok with spending billions on wars, and putting the real needs of our country on the back burner. I say it's time for a change.
When Seth Rogen, the actor went before the government and spoke on this, his appearance was slightly comical. Well, I am not laughing. I have lost 2 parents who both served this country with HONOR and DISTINCTION. My Father who served 3 tours in Vietnam, and my Mother who was his spouse for 56 years, 27 of those as a NAVY WIFE dedicated to raising a family, being there for Dad when he returned from War, and helping other families who lost their loved ones and never, ever asked for anything in return. This woman was a Saint in my book and Dad's for that matter, but yet this disease came out of nowhere and took her from us. MORE needs to be done to eliminate this disease from existence. More Veterans, their Spouses, their families have this than others. What does that tell me? Something that we're exposed to somewhere along the way during our "duty" is getting this into our bodies and it's robbing us of that which we deserve to keep, our memories, our intellect, our control over that which we do in our lives.
So Government...Laugh at Seth. Laugh at me and I am in your face more than you care to want me there. I am a Veteran of the US NAVY. I also served with HONOR & Distinction, and I intend to let the world know that Alzheimer's & Dementia need to be more of a priority for this NATION to lead the way to finding a cure, and this needs to be focused in on sooner than later.
As I said, this day I am blessed. I got to say farewell & I will see you later to my Mother. I am grateful that I took the time to do this after caring for her needs over these years after Dad's passing. I am honored to be her Son. I am honored to have had the opportunity to be of service to Mom, to Dad, and to others whose families wouldn't give them the time of day when all they wanted was someone to speak with, to share a story with, to be heard. I am blessed, and I thank GOD for this opportunity to share my thoughts, my words with each of you, especially those who may be embarking down a similar path with their loved ones. You are NOT alone. You ARE LOVED, and you have SUPPORT when you need it. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask for time, or for me to listen. I am here for you.
God bless you all, and may your day be as mine is, nothing short of amazing.
Farewell Mama!!! I will see you in heaven when it's time for me to join you and Daddy. Give him my love as well as yourself, and thank you again for the honor of being my Mother in this lifetime. I love you both always.
** For ANYONE who would like to donate to the Vincenza Murdock Memorial Fund, this money is being used to pay off Mom's final bills and expenses in this lifetime which were not covered by our wonderful government, please go to the following website, and this is legit, it's not a scam as I have no time for being dishonest to people, and Thank you in advance for your assistance:
This is a long road to reach the goal of this campaign. I wish someone like Seth Rogen, or Ellen DeGeneres, or another celebrity who perhaps has had a friend or relative afflicted with this disease to perhaps help, this campaign could end within an hour of them sharing and asking their followers to chip in. Even small donations help. Once this is reached, I can then wind all of Mom's affairs up, and begin a grieving process that I have been waiting to start since Dad passed away in May of 2013.
In advance, thank you very much for all of your support, and for those who have already donated, thank you as well and God Bless You All.
Then You Look At Me - Lyrics. Celine Dion Singer
Laugh and cry
Live and die
Life is a dream we are dreaming
Day by day
I find my way
Look for the song and the meaning
Then you look at me
And I always see
What I have been searching for
I'm lost as can be
Then you look at me
And I am not lost anymore
Sun to sun
Caught in their lives ever flowing
Life goes till it's gone
We have to go where it's going
Then you look at me
And I always see
What I have been searching for
I'm lost as can be
Then you look at me
And I am not lost anymore
And you say you see
When you look at me
The reason you love life so
Though lost I have been
I find love again
And life just keeps on running
And life just keeps on running
You look at me and life comes from you
The reason I mention SalesGenie is that over the past 3 months I have received between 15-20 calls each day of the week at all hours of the day and night from people using the SalesGenie product.
They're calling the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce in Lake Forest, California but yet somehow they are getting my cellphone which is in the 480 area code of Scottsdale Arizona.
Now if this was 1-2 calls per year, that would be one thing, but...it's not. It's 15-20 calls per day and as early as 3am in the morning.
My Mother died at 3:24AM on the 17th of February 2015. The day before I'd received a call at 3am in the morning from someone asking if they'd reached the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce. When I asked how they got my number they told me they were using this product called SALESGENIE and they had my number listed as the Lake Forest Chamber.
My number is registered with the National DO NOT CALL center so that I don't receive calls that are not solicited, but it appears someone out there at a particular company does not read that list.
If you're a victim of this type of abuse of your time, make sure you reach out to contact the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint with them as I have. It's not legal to publish someone's number as these people have and it should be something that allows them to make retribution for.
Personally, I think they should pay the entire fundraising for my Mother's Funeral Expenses, PLUS some additional compensation for my lost sleep every night when people call me, but I think that will never happen as most of these companies never get penalized. I will say this, if they've gotten my number in there and it's directing people incorrectly, they've most probably gotten other numbers in there incorrectly and my best recommendation would be to NOT use their product and to use one of the other ones out there that has the right numbers in place.
For anyone looking for it, the correct number of the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce is below:
Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce
22996 El Toro Rd #116
Lake Forest, CA 92630
Phone: (949) 583-9639
Fax: (949) 596-0410
Office Hours are generally from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, we're sometimes out in the community, so it doesn't hurt to call ahead before stopping by.
From Hwy 5
Exit El Toro Road NORTH (Left)
On the RIGHT
Corner of El Toro/Jeronimo
From 241 Toll Road
Exit Portola Parkway SOUTH (Toll Applies)
Turn RIGHT on Portola Parkway
Turn RIGHT on El Toro Road
On the Left
Corner of El Toro/Jeronimo
Have a nice day and please stop calling my cell phone number which begins with a 480 area code! Unless you really need to reach me. :-)

PS - If you have SalesGenie, contact them and let them know they have waken a sleeping person who's not happy about being waken.
I've been a member of twitter since...2007. All along the way I have seen people join and folllow, delete their accounts, gripe, rant, rave, applaud, protest and much. All of it pretty normal. Once in a while some things get out of hand.
Recently, a group of supporters of a group overseas that I will not give credence to by mentioning their acronym of a name, has complained that their free speech rights have been violated by Twitter canceling their accounts.
Last time I checked, FREE SPEECH in this country is part of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of The United States of America.
You're signing on to a service which originates in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. You by signing on have agreed to follow the TERMS of SERVICE of this organization know as Twitter. I am pretty sure...yes, I see it now, here's the line from their TOS directly:
" Violence and Threats: You may not publish or post direct, specific threats of violence against others."
and then there's this one:
"Unlawful Use: You may not use our service for any unlawful purposes or in furtherance of illegal activities. International users agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content."
So it seems to me that it's pretty clear that anyone posting any threats, or offering to do harm against others...you're pretty much sucking bandwidth if you violate things because they'll find you, trace your ip address and shut you down. Their network, their rules. If you don't play by them, expect to have your account closed. End of Story.
If you want to read the terms of service for yourself, yes this includes any members of any terrorist networks out there, you can go to the following link and read them:
Now, here's an idea. You people want to kill off all those people on the planet that don't wear your particular brand of wardrobe or read your books or subscribe to your ideology, why don't you start your very own social network and encourage all those who do wish to be a part of it to subscribe. That way you can have a clear channel to promote whatever it is that you want to and the rest of the world can live in peace and harmony without being distracted by your less than optimal view of everything that we do.
Some of us are perfectly happy walking our dogs, eating in different places, praying to GOD (yes, we pray to GOD as well), just maybe not in a special time or in some special spot because God said to all that he is EVERYWHERE and no matter where you are, you may pray and that prayer will be heard. Perhaps you can try that sometime as it's not against the will of GOD. For those that don't believe in God...let them not believe. When they are at the point of trying to enter the kingdom after life here is done...they might wish to know who is behind those pearly gates.
Anyway, some things to think about when you're posting pictures of people with bullseyes on their faces trying to make them fear you. You're doing nothing that serves the greater good in the Universe which is why we were all placed here on Earth in the first place.

It's interesting to hear the Breaking News this evening 2/10/15: Brian Williams Suspended for 6 months without pay.
WOW!! Bravo NBC!!! I'll bet that took a lot of effort to get done. Now, what does that really mean for Mr. Williams? Not a damn thing. He gets an unpaid vacation for 6 months.
What NBC should do is look at his total net worth, what he makes per year and take 1 years salary, multiply it times 5 and take that money from his benefits accounts and his pocket and donate that to Veteran's organizations so that they are compensated for this joke of a story that has been told for the past 12 years.
NBC, it's 12 years! It's NOT 1 instance. It's been an ongoing theme for the past 12 years and also may have been done in other circumstances/stories besides the helicopter one. This man does NOT belong in our living rooms ever again. He doesn't belong on Saturday Night Live or the Jimmy Fallon show or other tv shows where his name, his image, etc are shown to people who trusted him to bring the truth always and an unbiased
If you look at: http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-celebrities/brian-williams-net-worth/ he's listed as one of the richest celebrities out there. He's going to write a book about this whole adventure and will get a multimillion dollar contract for that. He's going to make millions while he's out on this "vacation".
If I were the HEAD CHEESE at NBC Universal, I would look at what this incident has cost my network, and what the potential future impacts would be, and I would cut Mr. Williams loose to go somewhere else. He will not be trusted in News again, and your network will not benefit from his services going forward. Our military does not trust him and it's apparent based on the amount of coverages this has received.
Stop wasting the public's time on this. I as a US NAVY DISABLED VETERAN call on EVERY single sponsor of NBC that has VETERANS or Guard Personnel on staff, or those who've been called up whose positions are being held open for them to PULL their support of NBC and ALL of its investments everywhere until such time as you let this man go through a door with a pink slip.
So, how about it? Stephen B. Burke, CEO of NBC Universal. Do you have what it takes to call your board together to make this decision?
You've lost tons of credibility. I question every news broadcast. I used to watch NBC news exclusively. I've switched to ABC news. To hell with CNN, they're just there for ratings and their news coverage sucks better than Dyson's vacuums.
Sir, I call on you to do the right thing and cut Brian Williams loose.

Hope @calottery sees this.
I have had an idea for the longest time that has to my knowledge never been done. So, since I live in California and we have such a wonderful lottery here, I want them to be the recipients of the first chance at this, so here's the idea:
Donate the unclaimed cash. Now, I know many people have suggested this for a long, long time to you, but read me out ( I would say hear, but I'm not speaking, I am writing).
Donate the unclaimed cash to individuals, not organizations. Not to the schools. The schools get the lion's share of the money from the lottery because that was the original charter for it, but in today's world, what would it be like to change the lives of many people.
For example, you posted something on facebook today about 45 Million in Unclaimed funds. Why not pick out 45 people who live in the State of California legally, who are in need of money to do things, such as help family, provide for their elderly, get a car to drive to work, feed their family, etc...and you change their lives by presenting them a check for $1,000,000.00.
Now, there would need to be some rules around this, and filming it would be a great thing to do, so here's my total proposal.
You would pay me to travel around in an SUV, go from city to city, meet people, see them, observe them for a few days, and out of the people that I run into, I could pick someone in that city, go to a local bank, draw a cashier's check for $1,000,000.00 and present it to them. They would have to be filmed, and allow the lottery to use their story in marketing, etc. Then we come back and see them 6 months to a year later to see how they're doing.
Of course there's logistics and such to be worked out, but this would be a huge win for many people, and many more would play the games out there because they'd know that others are being helped. It would also raise awareness to check tickets, but some might just let the money go out to the helping fund™ so it would help change lives. Karma can be a beautiful thing when shared in the right way.
Just a thought. There's much more to this, but I wanted to energetically get the push going, because I know that if someone gave me a check for $1,000,000.00 I could do many wonderful things with it, none of which include buying fancy cars or frivolous things with it, I'd be helping pay my Mother's Alzheimer's & Stroke bills for 5 years, I'd make sure I had a place to live and take care of my dog, and I'd be out visiting with people, and sharing my good fortune with those on the street who can use a break.
I did that with the $25,000 that I won from the lottery after taking care of some rent, as well as moving my Mom due to abuse from one facility to another, now she's in better hands, and I've been doing it every time I win something, I find someone who's downtrodden and looking like nothing is going their way, and I buy them lunch or something to eat and carry with them, I find out what their story is, why they are where they are, then I put something in their pocket to carry them further, and I say a prayer for them, wish them God Bless You On Your Path, and I let them be on their way.
My mission in this life is to change the world, to bring others together, to brighten lives and smiles, and to leave this world when my times in a better space than it was when I arrived here back in 1961.
Maybe @calottery can help me do that in a much larger way...
I sure hope so.
Okay, in today's world to even hear that ball used in football is improperly inflated is enough of a surprise, but 11 of the 12 balls used in a Championship game???
First off, who made the Patriots responsible for the balls? Why weren't the REFS involved in ensuring that all of the balls were up to standards before the game began? If they weren't, why wouldn't the Patriots be fined or something right then and there or maybe had some touchdowns pulled back?
So in the end, the Patriots are going to the SuperBowl with their heads held high, the Colts are home, and we're rewarding someone for cheating. Not just someone, an ENTIRE TEAM because someone knew something somewhere and if they're going to be silent about it, then the whole team should be penalized.
Of course then we have to wonder about Roger "BEATING YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS OK" Goodell and his team of Minions (no insult the cute characters in DespicableME) and how they handle anything thrown their way.
Here's what you do. When the game begins, you toss the coin, The Patriots call, they get the ball, you stop everything check the ball to make sure it's all good. Then you tack on 14 pts. for the other team right then and there, and make the Patriots play catch up ball for the entire game.
You also assess the team its upcoming draft picks, you fine them, and you put them on double-secret-probation for 5 years.
Encouraging or rewarding people for cheating is nothing but an incentive for others to do dirtier things along the way. Every player should be fined. Every member of staff should be fined and the total of those fines should be put toward feeding homeless VETERANS.
How much for the fines? No less than $3 Million total. WHAT???? That's TOO MUCH!!! Really? They'll make that on incentives and bonuses and such if they win the game. Or...if they do win, instead of the fine, eliminate any commercials, any bonuses, any deals with company's for product endorsements for the entire year. This way not only will players be inspired not to cheat, they'll be given an incentive to turn in anyone else who does.
Every member of the team should have to go to classes for 6 months on how NOT to cheat at a sport.
This is the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. It's an AMERICAN SPORT. CHEATING BRINGS SHAME ON US ALL.
It DOES NOT deserve to be rewarded.
That's my take on it. Too bad the NFL Commissioner's office doesn't have the balls to implement any of these things, much less all of them.
